The CJ Prentiss Education Resource Center is led by a team of seasoned educators, researchers, and advocates united by a commitment to equity, access, and social justice. Collectively, they bring decades of experience across public education, higher education, social services, and grassroots community work.
Their expertise spans early childhood care, K–16 instruction, educational policy, and youth development—particularly for underserved and marginalized populations. With backgrounds in sociology, criminal justice, educational leadership, and global teaching, the team combines academic insight with hands-on experience to address systemic barriers and promote inclusive practices.
They have designed and led school reform efforts, coached educators and leaders, and developed evidence-based programs grounded in research and community needs. Their collective work focuses on empowering students, supporting families, and fostering inclusive learning environments.
Together, the team carries forward the legacy of CJ Prentiss by developing innovative, data-driven programs that transform education and create a lasting impact for students, educators, and communities across Northeast Ohio and beyond.
Michael Charney was married to CJ Prentiss for 43 years. As a Social Studies teacher in the Cleveland schools for over 30 years, he worked closely with CJ to develop her transformative educational policies and vision.
RoLesia is well grounded in public education gained from over a decade of K-16 classroom teaching positions in the United States and abroad, with a focus on equity and school reform.
Jessica A. Leveto, Ph.D. is a sociologist, certified coach, consultant, and Associate Professor of Sociology at Kent State University at Ashtabula with expertise in research methods and program evaluation.
For over 45 years, Clarice has dedicated her life to serving underserved communities, with a special focus on children, single mothers, and youth at risk.
